St Martin/St Maarten is an epicenter for all the fun events you can imagine. From our famed TWO carnivals on the French and Dutch side (in March and May) to the Heineken Regatta, the largest sailing regatta in the Caribbean, huge music concerts throughout the year featuring world-renowned international stars, world class sporting events, national celebrations like November 11th (St Martin’s day when Christopher Columbus first discovered the island) you won’t find a month when there is not a high profile event on the schedule.

Sporting Events

For fitness fanatics, there are the local sporting events – drag racing, running, bicycling, triathlons, cross country commando style competitions, boxing and bodybuilding contests, every martial art under the sun, swimming races and much more! Despite the number of fine restaurants we boast we are a pretty fit island! St Martin/St Maarten is also popular for international beauty pageants held throughout the year and on the cultural side, there are annual book fairs attended by the Caribbean’s most exalted scholars, poetry recitals, and more musical events than you can shake a stick at!
